Morocco: Practical information

START: Marrakech airport. We`ll meet outside the main entrance after arrival.
END: Marrakech airport

TRIP SUMMARY: Our goal is to learn to know as many species of birds as possible - the North-African specialities in particular. Two english speaking teachers (Mr. Audun Eriksen (NO) and Mr. Terje Kolaas (NO) will lead the trip. We will start in Marrakech (you need to order and pay for your travel to Marrakech and back home yourself). Transport in a minibus northeast to the Atlas mountains on the first day. Thereafter we continue eastwards to the Sahara desert, before we drive westwards to Agadir and the coast. Accommodation is of variable standard, since in some of the areas options are scarce. Shower and hot water are available in the rooms, also in the basic hotels. 2-3 persons share rooms (same sex), unless you pay a single room supplement. Breakfast and dinner is included in the price. Lunch mostly in restaurants or the "norwegian bread and butter style" in the field.

COSTS
The cost for the whole trip will be 250 Euro / 2100 NOK per person - flights not included. You pay this in front of the trip.
The cost includes hotel-standard accommodation (2-3 persons per room), breakfast and dinner all days and transport in minibus (about 2000 km in total). Guide and teacher are paid by Nord University, securing an as economic trip as possible for the students.

You have to buy your own lunch. We will drop by restaurants when possible, but some lunches will be in the field.  We recommend withdrawing 1000 dirham (92 €), which will be added to a pool for lunches for everybody for the whole trip. The exact amount will vary slightly from year to year.

CONTACT
After we have received your application with the necessary information, you will be contacted by us a few months ahead of the trip. You will receive an invoice from us for the costs mentioned above. After you have paid, you will become a participant for the chosen year and destination.

All correspondence will thereafter happen by e-mail.  Your contact person is magne.husby(A)nord.no.
