Norway: Practical information

BirdID field study in Finnmark, Norway

The trip starts at Kirkenes Airport at 11.30 on the 16th of June 2020. We will drive directly to the Pasvik Valley, and stay there for two nights. Then we drive to the Varanger Peninsula and spend the rest of the trip around there.

End date: 22th of june 2020.

Costs:
The study is free of charge. However, you have to pay €380 in advance for car rental, fuel, accommodation and the boat trip to Hornoya for the 2020 trip.

You have to order and pay for your travel to Kirkenes and back home yourself.

You have to buy your own food (bread and spreads), water, juice and other liquids to be comfortable during the long birdwatching days. It is possible to buy dinner at restaurants every evening, and that will be approx 30 Euros every day. We will stay at places where it is possible to make our own dinner, and this option will be less expensive. It should be possible to spend less than 15 - 20 Euros on food each day this way.
